Meet Byron Nelson

Byron Nelson is a proud native of California's Central Valley — born in Merced and raised in Modesto. His roots in this community run deep, and his commitment to the people who call it home has shaped every chapter of his career. Before entering law, Byron worked full-time alongside retired Veterans and empowered adults with disabilities to live independent lives while earning his B.A. from California State University, Stanislaus in 2006.

In 2010, Byron obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and became a licensed California attorney that same year. He went on to gain valuable experience in private civil litigation, successfully handling complex trust and real property disputes. In 2013, he joined the Senior Law Project in Modesto — where he has continued to pursue his passion for service and his dedication to standing up for those who need it most.

Attorney Nelson aims to brings a warm, approachable style to every client relationship. He takes the time to truly listen, walks clients through the legal documents and processes involved in plain language, and prepares estate planning documents that reflect each person's unique circumstances, values, and wishes — so you leave with clarity and confidence, not confusion.

Today, Byron helps individuals, couples, and families across San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Merced, and the surrounding Central Valley with estate planning, elder law, probate, and trust litigation. His office is located inside the Senior Advocacy Network – Senior Law Project in Modesto, a reflection of his longstanding dedication to accessible, community-centered legal services.
